To provide the students with an opportunity to acquire knowledge, skill and attitude in the area of interior design with special emphasis on:

• Function of draperies and slip covers.
• Basics of design composition, Building materials & the elements of
interior design.

aggregates, general properties, stone masonry types), clay products, cement mortar, concrete, timber, plywood and related products, plastics and related products, glass and related products.
2.3 Explain Paints and related products, ferrous and non ferrous metals,
Gypsum and related products, Adhesives (or glues).
2.4 Describe the role of furniture in interior design.
2.5 Describe the principles of furniture arrangement.
2.6 List the principal textiles and textile terms used in interior decoration.

6.2 Sketch a catalogue door (intenor) with ‘stopped chamfer” molding.
6.3 Sketch a classical door with carved architrave by Francis Johnson.
6.4 Sketch different door fittings stylistic pluralism. (Tudor, Georgian).

7.0 Sketch walls decoration beyond modern.

7.1 Sketch a folksy stenciled look in wall papers from Greeff, United
States, early 1960s.
7.2 Sketch Polka dot wallpapers which can be used to create a contrast of
“positive” and “negative” in the same room.
7.3 Sketch striped wallpaper which has never been long out of fashion.
7.4 Sketch Frank Lloyed Wright – style stone work which present a strong
wall texture, with variations in thickness.
7.5 Sketch Neo-Victorian wall tiles, white kitchen tiles & regular mosaic
bathroom tiling.

8.0 Prepare the furniture arrangements of an apartment.

10.0 Perform the drawing of false ceiling.

10.1 Draw a reflected ceiling plan of a hall room.

of different types of materials.
10.4 Draw an electrical conduit lay out of a residential plan.
