The Bangladesh board is looking to hold its 3rd T20 extravaganza Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in December this year.
After the second edition of the BPL was held in January – February 2013, a big gap was created for the problems over mismanagement, players’ payment, controversies and a prolonged match-fixing scam that actually stalled the money-making domestic T20 tournament.
But after sitting in a close door meeting with other members of the BPL governing body, its Chairman Afzalur Rahman Sinha said, “It was not actually an official meeting of the governing body. Some of the members sat together today for a chat. We were supposed to make it out earlier but couldn’t do as the Pakistan series was happening. Now we finally made it out and discussed about some of the primary initiatives regarding the third edition of the BPL. We are planning to stage the tournament in December this year.”
